- 1 Avoid Direct Light: Do not expose the drum surface (the green or blue roller) to direct sunlight or strong room light for extended periods. Light exposure can ruin the photosensitive coating and cause print defects.
- 2 Do Not Touch the Surface: Avoid touching the drum roller with your bare hands. Skin oils and dirt can cause permanent spots and streaks on your prints.
- 3 Gentle Handling: If there is toner residue on the drum, do not use sharp objects or alcohol to clean it. Gently wipe with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth if necessary.
- Turn off the printer and open the front access door.
- Pull out the drum and toner cartridge assembly.
- Press the green lock lever to release the toner cartridge from the old drum unit.
- Unpack the new DR3405 drum unit and remove all protective packaging.
- Insert the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until it clicks into place.
- Slide the new drum and toner assembly back into the printer until it locks securely.
- Close the front door, turn the machine back on, and print a test page to confirm the installation.
